Check out these Tuff Tank Installation Guidelines to ensure that your water tank was correctly installed. MATERIAL: The foundation on which the tank is placed must be firm and capable of withstanding the maximum filled weight of the tank. The use of unstable materials such as sand, bitumen etc. must not be used as a bedding layer. SIZE: The base should safely exceed the tank base diameter by at least 6” on all sides. The tank base surface area should never be sloped for water run-off and must be exactly level in all directions. The area exceeding the tank base diameter can be designed for water runoff if needed. BASE CONSTRUCTION: The base must be level, stable, smooth and clean of debris (e.g. stone/gravel) or sharp objects, prior to tank placement. Base must be fully supportive of weight of tank. If your tank is not installed in accordance with the guidelines then it will not be covered under warranty.

Health Gard is manufactured from virgin polyethylene. This anti-bacterial material is approved for use in storing drinking water by the Food and Drug Administration.

When shopping for padlocks ensure that the lock is less than 6mm wide to fit inside for the pin hole and no less than 3cm high to allow for locking.

Tuff Tanks are manufactured using black-pigmented polyethylene to keep out and protect the product from harmful UV rays. If a tank were manufactured in natural material, within a few years small cracks would begin to appear on the outside of the tank, carbon black is the best inhibitor of UV damage.

Once installed properly our standard black water tanks have been known to last more than 30 years!
